An honest inventory
This page holds to the same standard as our product: stored facts are sacred, and we don't dress them up. It is an inventory — not a pitch.
Built
- Live in production, with real connected users
- Complete commercial layer: billing, seats, invoicing, terms
- Differentiated position in a category funded at scale
Operated
- Run by Volenti, a Canadian software company
- One shared engineering team across its projects
- Grown without outside capital so far
Open
- No dedicated sales & marketing org for FaultLine yet
- No outside capital — by choice, so far
What exists — and what is genuinely open
- ✓A production, deployed system with real users.
- ✓A complete commercial layer: billing, subscriptions, seats, invoicing, terms.
- ✓A differentiated technical position in a category being funded at scale (Mem0 raised $24.5M; Zep; Letta).
- ✓A real company behind it. Volenti is not a shell around one demo — it already ships and operates several products with its own infrastructure. FaultLine is one of them, in production today.
- ✗A dedicated FaultLine sales and marketing organization — it runs on a small team shared across projects.
- ✗Outside capital. Volenti has grown without it so far; this page exists because that can change deliberately rather than out of desperation.
Why talk to us
The engineering works. The commercial plumbing works. What a partnership or investment adds is dedicated focus: giving a proven, differentiated product the full-time go-to-market engine the shared team has not been able to give it.
That is a far more honest — and cheaper — starting point than most pitches: you are not funding a promise that software will eventually work. You are scaling something that already does.
Who’s behind it
Christopher Thompson · Kitchener, Ontario, Canada · LinkedIn
- Over 15 years of industry experience, from SaaS to FOSS.
- Founded Volenti (2026) and shipped its portfolio: FaultLine (production SaaS with an open-source core), Watchling, and AshleyAI.
- Published the FOSS core of FaultLine — the architecture is public and auditable, not a claim behind a login.
- Builds in public and assesses his own work against competitors honestly — in print, on his public profile.
“I’m always entertaining the fact that I could be wrong.” — a habit, not a disclaimer.
Our commitment
No growth-at-all-costs. Answer provenance and user correction are non-removable product principles — they are the product. We will not trade them for growth, and we would rather tell you that now than at a board meeting. If that's a dealbreaker, we've saved us both time. If it sounds like the kind of thing worth building on, let's talk.
